WhyNotReply ("we", "our", "the app") is an iOS app that analyzes your resume using AI, and returns a score, specific findings, and suggested fixes. This page explains what information we collect through the app and this website, and how we use it.

This is an early, plain-language version of our policy. We'll expand it with any additional detail required as the app develops.

Information we collect

The app does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email, or any contact details to function.

• Resume content. When you run an analysis, the text of your resume is sent to our backend so it can be analyzed by our AI processing provider. This is required for the app's core feature to work.
• Anonymous device identifier. The app generates a random identifier on install, stored only in your device's Keychain. It is not linked to your name or Apple ID, and it does not sync to iCloud or any other device.

Your analysis history is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a server-side account or database of your resumes tied to your identity.

How we use this information

We use the information above solely to provide the app's analysis feature: generating your score, identifying specific findings, and producing suggested rewrites. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

AI processing

Resume analysis is performed by Groq, a third-party AI inference provider, on our behalf. By Groq's own policy, it does not retain the content of your requests (inputs or outputs) by default. Request data may be temporarily retained for up to 30 days only for troubleshooting platform errors or investigating suspected abuse of their service, and Groq states it does not train its models on customer data. Subscriptions

In-app purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your payment card details. To manage subscription status and entitlements, we use Adapty, a third-party subscription management provider. Adapty processes purchase-related data (purchase time, product, and subscription status) but does not receive your payment details.

International data transfers

If you're located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, using the app involves transferring some of your data outside those regions — for example, resume text sent to Groq, which processes data in the United States and other countries. Where this applies, our processors rely on legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Groq's own Data Processing Addendum incorporates these) to cover the transfer.

This website

This marketing website does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies for tracking purposes. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log basic request data (such as your IP address) as part of serving those files — see Google's privacy policy for details.

Children's privacy

WhyNotReply is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Your privacy rights

If you're located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under GDPR (and equivalent laws elsewhere) over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export it, and the right to object to or restrict how it's processed. Since the app doesn't maintain a server-side account tied to your identity, most of this is already in your direct control — see "Your choices" below. For anything else, contact us at [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.

Your choices

You can delete your locally stored analysis history at any time from the app's History screen. Because the app doesn't maintain a server-side account, deleting the app or clearing its history removes the data associated with your device.

Data security

Data sent between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app develops. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
